Designing and producing from their workshop on a péniche on the river Seine south of Paris, Mylène and Denis are the creative husband and wife team behind the original artwork printed on old-style letterpress, using bold, as well as traditional colors. Creating fun pop art of iconic Paris landmarks such as Notre Dame and the Eiffel Tower, there is also the luxurious little poster printed in the old style of a 17th-century engraving of the fleur-de-lys sailing boat, the symbol of Paris, and its motto in Latin “Fluctuat nec Mergitur” - "Tossed by the waves, but never sinks."
L'Atelier Letterpress brings forward the traditional craft of letterpress with a fresh eye toward a twist on words, fun sayings, and a colorful lens on iconic Parisian landmarks. The artisanal prints and cards, designed using vintage graphics and typography, use eco-responsible manufacturing processes and techniques sensitive to minimizing all environmental impact. All paper and materials are carefully selected to uphold this standard, as all artwork is produced in France.
